Reed HealthCare is contracted to Queensland Health for the supply of medical practitioners and is working with the highest levels of management to ensure that presented candidates are considered for appropriate positions throughout the state.

Recruitment events were held in the UK throughout May 2006 and were a great success in raising the profile of Queensland as an ideal destination for career development for UK experienced doctors. The former Premier, The Hon Peter Beattie who himself attended, was delighted with the attendance and subsquent levels of applications for work in Queensland.

Federal Medicare Preferred Provider (Strengthening Medicare Initiative)

In January 2007 Reed HealthCare were re-appointed as one of eight preferred providers under the Federal Government's Strengthening Medicare Initiative for the provision of overseas trained Medical Specialists and General Practitioners working within the Medicare System.

This is a nationwide initiative to address the shortage of Specialist Doctors and GPs in Area of Need/District of Workforce Shortage (AON/DWS) regions and facilitates exemptions from the 10 year moratorium for Overseas Trained Doctors on gaining a Medicare Provider Number.

The contract sees the Federal Government meet the professional services fees associated with the recruitment of overseas trained doctors for qualifying positions effectively providing a "free" recruitment service to clients.

The current contract runs throughout 2007. If you would like further information please contact our dedicated consultants today.
